Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is Official

Samsung has made it official, announcing the Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday. As what everybody was expecting, the Note III sports a bigger screen from 5.5" (Note 2) to 5.7" but it does not mean we are to get a bigger Samsung phablet this time, as the Korean company managed to put all the beast machines into a lighter (168 grams) and slimmer (8.3mm) rectangle casing. If you may recall, the current Note on the market has 9.4mm thickness and weighing 180grams and that is really not a surprise as this is what every sequel is aiming for, a bigger and a better than the previous one. This Android 4.3 Jelly Bean phablet boasts a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with 1920x1080 resolution which is equivalent to 388ppi. Read on for more details and official press images after the jump.

This is going to be the first Note device to sport a 1080p or HD screen display. Inside the Android phablet are either 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset or 1.9GHz Exynos Octa CPU depending on the market and variant paired with a massive 3GB of RAM for a better multitasking experience. LTE and Non-LTE (3G) variants will be released for the GNote3. One of the main features that this device offers, although not the first one, is its capabilities of 4K video recording. 4K Resolution or simply called UltraHD/UHD is four times of that High Definition video quality. There is post on about Acer's phablet called "Liquid S2" which also just got unveiled at IFA 2013, PCMag says the Liquid S2 can record 4K resolution videos but won't be able to play them on the device itself and may need to connect to a 4K TV. I am just not sure if that is the same case with this Note 3, maybe no because this device only sports 1080x1920, while 4k videos require 4096x2160 resolution as per post on TechRadar or maybe yes as Samsung might already have an in-device technology that can playback 4k videos, I don't know. If someone knows the answer, please feel free to share it in the comments section of this post. A 3,200mAh battery is also part of the game.

Another new things in this new Samsung phablet offering is the back panel which sports a removable faux-leather covering and that's enough to give us new textured feel and touch when holding it. Fortunately the Note 3 will come in three different colors at launch and those are Jet Black, Classic White and Blush Pink. Now which color do you prefer? See that camera on the back? That will have a 13-megapixel resolution with optical image stabilization for HD video recording requirements. The front snapper has 2MP and this one is also capable of HD video recording. Samsung confirms that the Galaxy Note III will be shipped out in 32GB and 64GB storage capacity options of which you can also add another up to 64GB via its microSD slot.  And of course the Galaxy Note line signature, the S-Pen.

See the video below created and posted by Samsung Mobile on YouTube for more details on the Note 3's software features.
