Samsung Unveils Galaxy Round, A Curved-screen Phablet

The Korean electronics company Samsung just unveiled it's new phablet offering running Android Jelly Bean OS called the Galaxy Round. If we look at its technical specifications, you will immediately notice that it is just another high-end smartphone-tablet hybrid being offered by Samsung. It's like a direct sibling or twin to the Galaxy Note 3 as most of the specs are the same, but what makes it different from the rest of the cool gadgets today is its curved display which I think first of its kind to be officially announced.

Samsung Galaxy Roung boasts a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED curved display, an Android Jelly Bean device. Under that leather back covering similar to the Note 3's is a 2.3GHz quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM.  There is also a 32GB internal storage which can also be expandable via microSD card, 13MP back camera and a 2MP front one. The battery offers a 2,800mAh juice. Since it is a high-end and flagship level handset, we can guess that its asking price is also pretty high, if we convert the Korean price for the device we can get roughly $1,000 price.

Aside from that concave display Round offers, one of the new features this one has is what they call the "Roll Effect" where a user simply put the device on a flat surface, tilt it and it will show them the date, time and missed calls. See the video below released by Samsung Tomorrow.

Unfortunately this new handset is not going to be released worldwide, yet. Samsung currently plans to release the Galaxy Round in South Korea under SK Telecom.

What do you guys think of this Samsung Galaxy Round? Do you want one or let's just leave it to the Korean soil? Of course I want one!
