Porsche Design and Blackberry Team up For This $2,250 Smartphone

The Canadian company Blackberry has teamed up again with Porsche Design to create the premium version of its current flagship device Z10, the two companies announced the Porsche Design P'9982. Yes it's a premium device following the 2011's P9981. You may already asking how much it is going to cost you if you want one. To get one, ready your $2,250 when it gets released starting November 21 of this year.  

"Engineered Luxury meets Powered Performance - what has been true for the first Porsche Design smartphone is even truer for the all-touch P'9982. Once again the collaboration with BlackBerry has led to a device that implements our Iconic Style credo without compromises. With the P'9982 we extend our range of modern luxury smartphones and establish ourselves as a market leader in this segment." said Juergen gessler, CEO of Porsche Design Group.

When you check the Blackberry Porsche Design P'9982 technical specifications, you will find that almost everything is similar to what you are going to see in a regular Blackberry Z10 device running Blackberry 10 operating system. But this P9982 has exclusive treatment such as it is enclosed in a stainless steel casing with hand-stitched Italian leather back covering, the internal default storage now comes with a 64GB space, that's an increase from 16GB in a Z10 variant, you can also expand the memory to another 64GB via microSD card. There is also a unique BBM PIN that comes with this premium package so that people in the Blackberry Messenger world would know that you spent more than $2,000 on this newest Blackberry baby as there will be an icon to appear on your BBM profile. Everyone will know that you are not using an iOS, Android or the regular Blackberry devices but a Porsche Design P9982.

The Blackberry Porsche P'9982 will also come in a limited "Crocodile Edition" in early December with only 500 units to be manufactured. Starting November 21, this Porsche-designed smartphone will be available at all Porsche Design store, select carriers and stores around the world.

Let's take a quick run down on the specs, out of the box you will have the 4.2-inch screen display with 1280x968 resolution, a 1.5GHz Dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor there is also a 2GB of RAM which more than enough for multitasking purposes. Again, an exclusive series of BBM PIN, the OS would be a slightly-tweaked BB10 some say the version on this one is a BB10.2 OS. 64GB internal storage space, expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. Plus other Blackberry 10 apps like BBM Now, BBM Video with Share Screen, BlackBerry Story Maker, Camera Time Shift mode, and Priority Hub.
