Blackberry Z3 "Jakarta" Smartphone Image Leaks Online

Since Blackberry got a new CEO, John Chen, the Canadian company is rumored to be unveiling a new and first smartphone under Chen's command at the Mobile World Congress or MWC 2014 in Barcelona later this month. The image of what is currently being referred to as Blackberry Z3 with a codename "Jakarta" has been leaked online alongside its possible specs and pricing. Read on for more details.

The image render (means not the actual device yet) was posted on and said that as per Foxconn, the Blackberry Jakarta will be announced and displayed at the MWC 2014 with a price tag of $150. That means this is not going to be a flagship level smartphone but a entry level one that may target emerging markets. Below is the rumored specs of the Blackberry Z3.

- 5-inch display with 540x960 resolution
- 1.2GHz Dual-core processor
- Adreno 305 GPU
- 1.5GB RAM
- 8GB Internal Storage
- 5MP rear camera with Autofocus
- 1.1MP Fixed focus front camera
- 2650mAh Battery
- $150

What have been leaked information so far are just basic specs found in a normal smartphone of todays and I believe with only those things right out of the box are not enough to gain a significant number of new users. Blackberry has to offer something not common in Android or iOS smartphones apart from the design and pricing. Of course these are just rumors and are not to be believed until confirmed. So I better wait until the MWC takes place this year in Barcelona to see what the new Blackberry management has in store for their target markets.
