Xiaomi Unveiled MiPad an iPad Mini Lookalike With Great Specs

Have you ever wondered what the iPad Mini would look like if Apple had decided to mash it up with iPhone 5c's design? Well that has not happened yet but there is a newly unveiled device from China that would be able to give us a closer look. Xiaomi just announced its Mi Pad, an Android Kitkat-powered slate. At first glance the Mi Pad will immediately remind you of Apple's iPad Mini device plus colors. Don't look away yet from this tablet as its specs are also very tempting and its price is is also very competitive.

Aside from looks, the Xiaomi MiPad also features a display which is similar to Apple's Retina Display found on its best-selling device. MiPad boasts a 7.9-inch display with 2048x1536 resolution. Under the colorful plastic casing are the 2.2GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 2GB of RAM. By default, users will be able to get the MiPad in 16GB and 64GB variants but if that is not enough they can still add more storage via microSD card up to another 128GB.

Xiaomi MiPad Specs:

- 7.9" Display
- 2048x1536 resolution, 326ppi
- 2.2GHz Quad-core Nvidia Tegra K1 processor
- 192-core NVIDIA Kepler GPU
- 16GB and 64GB internal storage
- expandable up to 128GB via microSD card
- 8MP rear camera f/2.0 aperture
- 5MP front camera f/2.0 aperture
- 6,700mAh Battery
- White, Black, Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink
- WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0

MiPad will be available in China starting next month and unfortunately there is no word if the device will be launched outside of the country. And if ever it does I am pretty sure it is going to be a hit to most people who wants to have powerful devices for a very affordable price. Its 16GB version's price is equivalent to $240USD while its 64GB is for $270USD. That is way cheaper than the iPad Mini with Retina Display.
