Snow White and the Huntsman Prequel Now Official With Release Date

Finally we have heard something new and exciting about the follow up movie to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman film which starred Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron. A prequel titled "The Huntsman" and its official release date.

Chris and Charlize will be returning to the franchise but not Kristen and it's going to be a prequel where the story between Eric (Hemsworth) and Ravenna (Theron) will be told such as how their paths crossed before. Behind the camera will be director Frank Darabont replacing Rupert Sanders from the first pic. If you are not familiar with Darabont's works, he is an Oscar-nominated director for "The Shawshank Redemption", and "The Green Mine", he was also the original showrunner of "The Walking Dead" TV series.

It has also been announced that The Huntsman movie will be  released in April of 2016. See below the Universal's press release for this film.

"The fantastical world of 2012’s global hit Snow White and the Huntsman expands to reveal how the fates of two characters, The Huntsman Eric and Ravenna, intersected before they met Snow White.  Chris Hemsworth and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron return to their roles in a new epic action-adventure, The Huntsman.  Three-time Oscar® nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) directs and wrote the current draft of the screenplay, with earlier drafts by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos.  Producer Joe Roth (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland) once again leads the team in a breathtaking new tale from the legendary saga.
