Asus ZenWatch Announced at IFA 2014

Asus joined the IFA event in Berlin this week and officially unveiled its first smartwatch offering dubbed the ZenWatch which sports a curved 2.5D front panel with 1.6inch AMOLED display, and is powered by Android Wear OS. 

The ZenWatch will be available starting Q3 of the year for a price tag of 99 Euros or about $260 USD. The design of this device has a slight difference compared to other Android Wear smartwatch like the G Watch R, Moto 360 and even Samsung Gear Live. The display or screen is a bit curved while the frame and back panel are stainless steel.

Specs wise, the ZenWatch sports, aside from the 1.6-inc AMOLED Display, a 320x320 resolution. Inside it are a Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which are about average specs of smartwatches of today's. Good thing is the is device is compatible with any Android 4.3 and above smartphones but it is more optimized with an Asus-made devices. Water and dust proof features are also on board with a rating of IP55. 

There are also built-in apps that allow users to view incoming calls, messages, notifications and other gesture control apps.
