SKK Mobile V2, 5" Android Kitkat With Heart Rate Monitor For Php4,999

SKK Mobile through their Facebook page has officially unveiled the V2 smartphone powered by an Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system. This new smartphone from SKK is a very eye-catching one due to its slim and sleek design and many of its sensor-based features that come with it. What I like about this V2 device is its extremely thin bezels which the company claims to be as thin as 1.6mm, the official image above shows that as well.

SKK V2 is a very affordable smartphone which only costs Php4,999 and yet it features very premium look and feel. Looking at the device itself, I can't help but remember one of LG's flagship devices as it really resembles one of those especially if we take a look at the back panel of the V2 which appears to be featuring the volume rocker right below the camera lens and that is something first seen on LG G2 device. One of the new selling features of this V2 is the heart rate monitor which is also located at the back cover. If I am not mistaken, SKK Mobile is the first local company to offer this health-related feature on their smartphone. And that is a big plus to SKK.

The front panel is mostly occupied by the screen, and yes I want to mention it again, the bezels are very thin and very satisfying to the eyes. The screen sports a 5" IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. Since it sports an IPS screen, viewing angle should be better on this one. On the inside are the 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Users can still use microSD card on the device up to 64GB.

And then for picture taking purposes, the SKK Mobile V2 provides an 8MP rear facing camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 5MP front facing snapper. It supports 3G connectivity so fast internet browsing over cellular data should also be fast. And if that is not an option for users, they can also connect to the internet through its WiFi connectivity. All of the SKK V2's juice will be coming from a 2,500mAh battery, which I believe should last for a whole day of usage on a single charge.

There is also another feature on the V2 which SKK calls it "Air Browse" and it works just like Air Shuffle on O+ smartphones. Simply wave your hand over the display to switch pages, move between pages. Users can also mute incoming calls or pause song through this feature. By shaking the phone, users can change the song being played.

The "Quick Gesture Entry" is another gesture-based command available on the V2 and it works even if the display is on deep sleep mode. From sleep mode users can launch the following apps with their corresponding gestures, see image below. I am just a bit confused if this particular command works on a locked screen and I hope by "deep sleep" the company means the device's screen is locked. If you guys can confirm this one question of mine, please use the comment section below. : )
