Nexus Devices Users Rejoice! Android 5.0 Lollipop Update is Here!

This is a pretty good news for all Nexus devices users as Google has just officially started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for most of its Nexus devices. There are even some users who claim to receive notifications on their devices informing them about the update being ready for download over OTA (over-the-air).

However not every Nexus device is getting the most anticipated update for now. According to a post on, at the moment only Nexus 5, WiFi models for Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013), and Nexus 10 are getting the update.  But there are other blogs and commenters saying that even the cellular versions of the Nexus 7 are also getting to treat together with the Nexus 4. Check your device to see if you are getting the update, if not just wait a bit longer it may take days or weeks to have every device updated. But they will definitely getting the update as what Google has already confirmed.

Google has also posted factory images for the said update on its Nexus/developers site which users can download to their devices if they cannot wait for the over-the-air release, CNet has published a tutorial online on how to download it and update your Nexus gadget right now. This particular Google website clearly tells us which devices are getting the update through the factory images it has already listed and it looks like they are constantly updating it. The last time I checked there was no entry for Nexus 7 cellular editions only for WiFi variants but now all versions of Nexu 7 are already posted.

Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 were shipped out of the box with the latest Google's mobile OS but they are also included in the new Lollipop update release to fix some minor bug issues. This is really a good news and it also looks like that many other companies are racing to the line of releasing their own Android Lollipop update for their candidate products.
