Office for Android Now Updated With Dropbox Support

It was just earlier this month when Microsoft announced partnership with Dropbox which led to the integration of the said cloud storage provider being supported on Office Mobile app. Apple iOS users were the first ones to experience this and now Microsoft has unveiled the Office Mobile for Android which comprises of Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications now supports Dropbox.

This means that users can now save, edit, browse documents and even share files on Dropbox via the Office app. This also means better integration of the Office app with Microsoft's own OneDrive cloud storage.
"With today's update, you'll get the same integration in Office Mobile for Android phone, including the ability to ... add Dropbox as an online storage location, browse your files on Dropbox, [and] use Office Mobile app for Android Phones to edit your Dropbox files and automatically save them back to Dropbox," Microsoft explained in a blog post announcing the update.
While this is a good new for both Office and Dropbox users this may not be a permanent one. According to VentureBeat, Microsoft also plans to release separate apps for Word, Excel and PowerPoint on Android platform for both smartphones and tablet just like what it did with iPhone and iPad's iOS versions.
