Lamborghini 88 Tauri Smartphone Now official, For $6,000

The number of luxury smartphones on the market is ever growing with the addition of Lamborghini brand name in the scene as the Tonino Lamborghini 88 Tauri smartphone has just been made official and selling will start before the month or year ends.

That's right mate it's the same Italian Lamborghini company behind this new smartphone. And although the 88 Tauri does not look any typical Lambo super cars, it still features designs that will immediately tell the observers its a luxury smartphone and not just the usual high-end Android device around. And yes it still bears the same raging bull logo both on front and the back panels.

The Tonino Lamborghini 88 Tauri's casing is made of steel and leather combination where the steel part comes in three different color selections such as Gold, Black and Plain Steel while the leather sections will be available in Black, Blue, Red, Orange and Brown. It's real leather by the way, which is nice.

This Lambo smartphone is clearly not just about the brand name and physical design, it is also about the performance just like the car counterpart. And by far, among the other luxury branded smartphones in the past, the 88 Tauri packs more specs that are flagship level.

First it has a 5-inch Full HD display sporting a 1920x1080 resolution (with 441ppi) protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Underneath sits a 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor from Qualcomm together with a 3GB of RAM and an expandable 64GB internal storage, how much additional memory it can handle is yet to be disclosed. As for its cameras, the back one will have a 20MP resolution with dual-LED flash and partnered with an 8MP front camera, cause even the deep-pocketed individuals love quality selfie photos.

On the software side there would be an Android 4.4.4 Kitkat running the device and most likely a stock version one. Just like many other Android smartphones on the market the Lamborghini 88 Tauri sports dual-SIM functionality and what's more to it is that it can run two LTE-enabled SIM cards at the same time and that is something we don't normally see in many high-end smartphones. The battery is pegged at 3,400mAh size which the company claims to last up to 35 hours of talk time on 3G network.

So how much this thing is going to be for? If you haven't read the title yet, that's going to be a whopping $6,000 or about Php268,000 in our currency. If you are ready to buy one, by the end of the year pre-order taking will start and just be advised that only 1947 units will be created. If you think that's just a random number, then you're just wrong as it is the same year Antonio "Tonino" Lamborghini was born in. He is the son of Ferruccio Lamborghini.
