Smart Subscribers Can Now Buy from App Store and iTunes Using Their Prepaid Load or Postpaid Account

Smart Communications Inc has just unveiled a new service for its subscribers dubbed "Pay With Mobile" which simply lets postpaid and prepaid users buy apps, games, books, magazines, music, and movies from iTunes and Apple App Store using their Smart accounts. Don't worry Android users, Smart has also released similar service a couple of months back so this one for iOS users is a bit late if you think about it.

For prepaid subscribers who want to buy content or make in-app purchase, the amount to be bought will be deducted from their load and for postpaid customers will be added on top of their monthly bill. That means that the need to have a credit card to make purchase is no longer the requirement here and as long as users will register to the Pay With Mobile service purchasing will not be a hassle anymore.

The service has officially been made available since February 16 and will have its full function buy February 18, 2015.

Smart understands that not everyone owns a credit card, but that shouldn’t stop people from realizing the full potential of their mobile devices. This is why we have worked hard to bring this groundbreaking service to Filipino users, which we believe will further revolutionize the way they enjoy their favorite lifestyle apps and content on their devices,” said Charles Lim, EVP and Wireless Consumer Division Head at Smart. “This is yet another way that Smart is making mobile Internet fun, fast, and worry-free for all of our subscribers.”
To register to the service users will need to send REG to 4949. Once sent, they will receive confirmation SMS saying they are registered together with a unique Pay With Mobile number assigned to their account and other important details.

Once subscribers have the Pay With Mobile number, they need to go too their Apple ID account settings for iTunes or App Store and enter the Pay With Mobile number given to them via text message and other information and select MasterCard for payment option.

Please be advised that upon making purchase via this service there will be an additional fee on top of the content price that will be deducted from the prepaid load or will be charged additionally on the postpaid account. To know more information about the Pay With Mobile service you may visit
