Firefly Mobile Intense Mini Launched, Octa-core for less than Php5k

It's not too long ago when Firefly Mobile announced and released their flagship smartphone called Intense 64 LTE which is being offered for a very affordable price with mid-range specs and features, the local company is here again releasing a somewhat and slight trimmed down version of the device in terms of specs, features and most of all price, the Firefly Intense Mini is revealed.

Announced via their Facebook page, Firefly Mobile admitted that they had already done soft launch at their stores and kiosks even before the Intense Mini was officially announced yesterday. That means the smartphone can now be purchased at any of their concept stores nationwide for just Php4,499 with additional freebies, you know the Firefly Mobile way.

Just like the bigger predecessor, the Mini has a lot of things to offer for a very cheap asking price. First off, there is the 4.5-inch qHD IPS-Plus display, all out with OGS (One-Glass Solution) and Full Lamination display, with those on board this must have a pretty nice display and viewing experience even if it's below the normal HD / 720p offering. Not only that, the screen is also scratch and damage resistant, thanks to the Asahi Dragontrail Glass layering.

On the inside that powers the device is an eight-core MT6592 processor from MediaTek clocked at 1.4GHz. There is a 1GB of RAM for multitasking needs and a default 8GB internal space for storage purposes. If that is not enough, users don't have to worry about running out of space as they can use a microSD card up to 128GB, this particular feature is rarely seen on other smartphones under the same category and price range. Firefly Mobile is really raising the bar when it comes to mid-level smartphone offerings with budget-conscious users in mind.

Firefly also customized the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS even further to allow consumers to maximize the internal storage so they can move apps from internal to microSD, another thing we usually don't see on other Android smartphones around. There are phones that have "move to SD card" option for managing apps but do not entirely move the apps data to the external card.

Firefly said they understand that "camera quality is one of the main must-haves on any smartphone device consumers look for today, " that's why they they put everything they could on the Intense Mini cameras without costing users more. Both 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras are equipped with f/2.8 aperture lens for capture more light and product better quality of photos. In addition to the large aperture lens, the back camera also has BSI sensor, LED flash and Autofocus.
