Happy Mobile Magic Priced, Will be for Php4,499

Yesterday I spotted a new series of smartphones from Happy Mobile namely Magic, Magic Pro and Magic Touch. I also mentioned that the local and relatively new electronics company removed the materials from their Facebook page and a short video clip that accompanied the images of the phones for reasons I don't know yet, sort of. But today, Happy Mobile again via their official Facebook page announced or should I say re-posted new details about these smartphones.

Happy Mobile has revealed that those smartphones were indeed real and was not unleashed mistakenly or prematurely. But I think I know exactly the reason what happened yesterday, I will talk about that later. So now the Happy Mobile Magic smartphone has just been made official bearing a price tag of just Php4,499, that's according to the image above.

With that price tag, users will get a 5-inch qHD (960 x 540 resolution) IPS display with OGS or One-Glass Solution layering to provide much better viewing experience. The cameras are nice here with the front facing one sporting a 5MP lens paired with a rear shooter coming in at 13MP resolution. I can't say yet if these cameras feature other camera-related specs like BSI, Optical Image Stabilization, aperture and others unless I will have an opportunity to get my hands on this smartphone.

For storage purposes there is an 8GB internal space which can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. Powering the Happy Mobile Magic is an unnamed 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. On the software side it is running Android 4.4 Kitkat. And then the usual connectivity features are also on board like the WiFi and Bluetooth support, dual-sim with dual standby functionality, 3G network support and USB-OTG. All of those for price tag no more than Php5k.

Going back to the question why the photos and video were deleted yesterday. I think it has something to do with the display resolution part. I recall seeing the images of the three devices (Magic Pro and Magic Touch included) showing an HD or 1280 x 720 resolution for all of them. Today when the Magic was re-revealed it now says "5.0-inch QHD OGS IPS Display", although it's still incorrect as QHD (with the big Q letter) means Quad-HD or 2560 x 1440 resolution. Since the price tag is just Php4,499 it means it's qHD (with small q) meaning it has 960 x 540 resolution. And it looks like the other two will also sport the same pixel arrangement on the display.
