Yes, Pepsi just Released its First Smartphone called P1

Obviously it's not April 1st today so this means, this is a real smartphone coming from the Pepsi company that we know. Pepsi said before that they were planning to release their first smartphone, and true enough they were not kidding as the P1 device is now officially unveiled in China, at least.

Pepsi has partnered with manufacturer Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co. Ltd to build the phone for them. This company is doing an approach to the too-crowded smartphone industry the same way Google does by partnering with manufacturer to make the phone they are to offer.

As of posting, this Pepsi Phone P1 is already official in China and is also currently listed on a Kickstarter-equivalent website there in the Chinese market. Backers are offered to get discounts and the device is now available for pre-order for as little as 699 Yuan or about Php5,100.

Pepsi P1 specs:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD display
  • 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 2.5D curved glass
  • 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor
  • 2GB RAM

As of this moment, it is not known yet if Pepsi also plans to release this device outside of China. Hopefully, Philippine users will also be able to hand their hands on this phone. If Pepsi will release this smartphone P1 or not, we will definitely know about it.
