Subscribe to Netflix and Charge it to Your Smart Postpaid Account

I am going to say it again, Netflix is now in the Philippines and available to everyone who wants to subscribe to it and start streaming their favorite movie and TV shows unlimitedly. Since the first time I have heard about it, many of the people I know have already registered with their Netflix accounts. However, there are still a lot of them who can't since Netflix is requiring a credit card or Paypal account as mode of payments.

Thankfully, local tech company giants like Smart and PayMaya Philippines are here to the rescue and are already prepared giving millions of Filipinos alternative options to pay Netflix even without having a credit card which also happen to be very convenient as they only take minutes to set up.

First off, there is the PayMaya Visa card. This is one of the easiest and fastest and it does not require certain mobile numbers from a certain provider, this means anybody who has an active mobile number can definitely register. PayMaya recently confirm that their service is 100% going to work with Neflix subscription, read more details here.

If you want to know how to sign up on PayMaya, my review and how to set it up, you can also read another post of mine here for further discussion.

Apart from PayMaya, there is also another option for Smartphone postpaid subscribers and iPhone users to subscribe to Netflix. Smart has this service called Pay with Mobile, but this one is a little bit limited than the PayMaya. Before the arrival of Netflix in the country, the Smart Pay with Mobile service only works for iTunes accounts and only available to postpaid customers.

Smart Pay-with-Mobile gives registered users a virtual credit card number that they can exclusively use on iTunes for buying paid apps or making in-app purchases. And today, they are extending the use of this service to Netflix subscription.

"Smart postpaid customers may conveniently subscribe to Netflix on their iOS devices with their Pay-with-Mobile service without having to use a credit card. Subscribers will be given a unique Virtual Credit Card number that they can use exclusively with their iTunes accounts and easily charge their Netflix subscription to their postpaid bill," according to Smart's post announcement.

Customers can choose from three Netflix plans starting at Php370 per month for the Basic Plan. Users automatically get one month free streaming after sign up. Subscribers of Standard (Php460/month) and Premium (Php550/month) Plans get additional viewing screens and HD and Ultra HD viewing options.
