Live Broadcast Feature Comes to YouTube App

The era of live broadcasting from the comfort of our mobile devices all started by Meerkat, if I remember it correctly, especially when this app became available or associated with Twitter. Then Periscope came into the scene, and the live broadcasting became more interesting and popular. Twitter bought Periscope, kicked Meerkat out of their platform, and integrated Periscope with Twitter instead for all of its users to enjoy. And not so long ago, Facebook jumped into the fray with their own Facebook Live feature and live streaming world became ever more like a necessity for so many creators and consumers.

With the live streaming or broadcasting products becoming more and more popular to both users and producers, it is no surprise exactly that more and more well-known brands are also launching their own version of this feature to have a share of the pie. That being said, YouTube is now the newest player into this next-phase of digital consumption.

The live streaming functionality will be embedded right into the heart of the YouTube mobile app that we use. And since it's going to be soon available to everyone around the world, expect this feature to be very simple in terms of operation, like a simple and recognizable button to go live and a window asking you to put in a title for a specific live broadcast of yours before going fully live into the web. Much like those Periscope and Facebook Live actually with the ability to interact with viewers real time.

Yes, you read that right that it will "soon" be available to everybody, because as of this very moment this feature is activated to select YouTube publishers like The Young Turks, AIB, Platica Polinesia, SacconeJolys, and Alex Wassabi at VidCon and this maybe because to gather some info from these YouTubers to enhance the functionality more and make sure that there would be lesser issues (if not all totally fixed) and bugs when it rolls out to everyone.

We will definitely know for sure when it rolls out here in the Philippines, and when it does I will update you guys again through this blog. I don't know about you, but I am more excited about this thing than Facebook Live when it was in its beta stage. I think it's going to be a cool one, since it's from YouTube which we know videos on their site are much optimized and faster than everywhere else.
