Asus ZenWatch 3 is the Company's First Round Smartwatch and It's Beautiful

The IFA 2016 in Europe has just kicked off and with this, we can expect a lot of upcoming gadgets to be officially unveiled at this event in the coming days. First off these is the new Asus ZenWatch 3. It is the Taiwanese company's first smartwatch sporting a round face. And I got to admit, it is way better looking than the first two ZenWatches I have seen.

Right off the bat, the Asus ZenWatch 3 offers a 1.39-inch circular face sporting a 400 x 400 resolution with 287 pixel per inch density. When it comes to thickness, it is only pegged at just 9.95mm which is pretty slim actually. On the crown, there are a total of three physical buttons. The first one is a default button that does what it does when operating the Android Wear 2.0 OS the ZenWatch 3 runs on, the second is customizable one, for example assigning an app to be opened with this button, and the third is used for launching the new Asus ZenFit fitness app. ZenFit is a new step count tracking app that according to Asus has an "industry leading 95% accuracy".

On the power side, the ZenWatch 3 comes with a 314mAh battery pack and according to Asus it can last up to two days. Also this smartwatch is built with a HyperCharge technology that enables the device to be charged back up with up to 60% in just 15 minutes. It also sports IP67 water resistant rating so having caught up in the rain won't make you worry about it's durability.

Asus ZenWatch 3 specs:
  • 1.39-inch AMOLED Display
  • 400 x 400 resolution
  • 287 ppi
  • Snapdragon Wear 2100 Processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB internal storage
  • Android Wear 2.0
  • Stainless Steel casing
  • Gun Metal, Silver, Rose Gold
  • 9.95mm thick
  • 341mAh Battery

As expected there is no word yet if and when this ZenWatch 3 will be released in the Philippines, however in the US and Germany, consumers will be able to purchase this for about $255 USD beginning October of this year.
