Huawei Announces Midrangers Nova and Nova Plus Smartphones

Fresh from the IFA 2016 still, Huawei took the veil off of their newest devices that have been categorized as mid-rangers and yet still looking so flagship of a device in terms of aesthetics and specs, meet the Nova and Nova Plus.

When a company launches two smartphones at once sharing the same naming with a "Plus" attached to the bigger one usually the devices' look are the same. But in the case of this Nova and Nova Plus handsets from Huawei, they completely flaunt different looks. One that looks like a mini version of Nexus 6P and another reminiscent of Mate S phones, clearly these will be the next stars of Huawei next to the current flagships P9 and P9 Plus.

As expected of these two siblings, the two share almost the same specs. And as for its similarities, the Huawei Nova and Nova Plus both are powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage on the insides. The software experience is pretty much going to the same too for these devices with Huawei's Androind 6.0 Marshmallow-based Emotion UI 4.1.

Connectivity department also sport the same set of specs and features. USB Type-C, LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3.5mm headphone jack, are all present in both smartphones. There is an 8MP front camera as well on the phones.

However, according to Huawei's own website for the phones, microSD cards with up to 128GB are definitely supported. I think, they should support memory card, in fact every device should have this particular capability, if not then that's going to be a major turn off. 32GB default storage is just not enough nowadays.
