Samsung PH Advises Users to Stop Using their Note 7 Devices and Have them Returned

By now you have probably heard that Samsung's latest phablet offering called the Galaxy Note 7 has been suffering from exploding or catching fire since it was released to the public. A Galaxy Note 7 global recall was ordered early in September and even the replacement ones which are supposed to be much safer are still being reported to be doing the same thing worldwide. And this is really saddening to realize that one of the most favorite Android smartphone series in the world is causing this inconvenience not just on consumers' part but also on Samsung's.

As much as Samsung would like to avoid a second recall, they really have no option but to take this course of action as consumer safety is the company's utmost priority. Samsung has officially stopped the Galaxy Note 7 production and also advised stores, partners, and carriers around the wold to halt sales of the said device while an investigation is in full swing.

Samsung Philippines has been very busy making sure that local Note 7 users are properly updated and assisted relating to this matter. That being said and in line with the latest recall order, Samsung Philippines has released latest advisory pertaining to the recent development on the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.

Samsung PH is now urging users of Note 7 to immediately power down their phones, both original and replacement units, and contact their place of purchase to exchange for a Galaxy S7 Edge or request for a full refund.

While further investigation takes place, Samsung has released an official statement announcing the halt of sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7.

"We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers' safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place."

We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and participate in the local programs each market has prepared."

It is important to note that in case users would like to get a Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone instead of a full refund, price adjustment between the Note 7 and S7 Edge will also be made. Please make sure that you present your Samsung Galaxy Note 7 complete with the original packaging and accessories as well as the official receipt.
