Why is Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.5" Better than Its Smaller 5.2" Variant and Zenfone 3 Laser? Specs and Price!

The wait is over! At least for those people who have been eagerly waiting for the official local pricing of the other Zenfone 3 Max variant. No this is not the first Zenfone 3 Max model that was initially announced in early August and later that month released, but a bigger and more high-end version of it. For how much? Php10,995!

Now just a quick price comparison between these two battery-centric devices, the smaller variant of the Zenfone 3 Max is currently priced at Php8,995. So if you would like to get the more high end version, you would need to shell out an additional Php2,000 of which I think is a good bargain for what additional specs you are getting with this ZC553KL model.

There are actually a few differences between the two Zenfone 3 Max devices which you really need to check out especially if you are to buy this particular model of the latest Zenfone 3 series from Asus.

First off, the display is now much bigger at 5.5" instead of 5.2" from the first ZF3 Max and the resolution is now even sharper at 1080p, the other only sports 720p. Inside the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 sits a faster 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor paired with the same 3GB of RAM. In its smaller brother's heart is just a quad-core MediaTek processor. Default storage remains at 32GB but is expandable via microSD card on its second SIM slot up to 128GB.

As for its camera department, you are most likely to fall in love with this device more than the 5.2-inch version. That's because the rear camera is pegged at 16MP (versus 13MP from its brother) and is now equipped with Laser Autofocus system which is unfortunately not present in the first Zenfone 3 Max. If you can still recall in last year's Zenfone Max model, Autofocus feature is one of its specs and that's why many fans were quite surprised to know that it was not included in the 5.2-inch version of the Zen 3 Max. Now that Laser Aufocus, which helps the camera to focus on subject as fast as 0.03 seconds, is put back in the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 is just a good news to hear. The front camera now offers 8MP, again higher than ZF3 Max 5.2-inch's 5MP. See!

Apart from those mentioned above, the rest of the specs remain the same such as the fingerprint scanner, reverse charging technology and the massive 4100mAh battery. In fact the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 shares almost the same specs as the Zenfone 3 Laser which is currently priced at Php11,995. That being said, I think the ZF3 Laser's sale will have a hard time catching up with this larger Zenfone 3 Max when it comes out.
