Ace 32" Super Slim HD LED TV Unboxing and Initial Impressions

If you have read my previous post related to this product, you already know how I got this 32" HD LED TV by ACE from Lazada Philippines instead of a 1TB Hard Drive from Sandisk. However, in case you don't know yet and would like to learn more about its quick history, you can check out this separate post here.

The way I see it, this ACE 32" HD TV is one of the most bought items from Lazada website especially during last year's Online Revolution where the price went down for as low as Php5,999 from its original price of Php9,999. In fact its current rating in the review section is 4.5 out of 5 stars with about 961 reviews. I saw this TV became sold out or unavailable multiple times since then. But thankfully there are now a lot of stocks that up until today this particular ACE 32" Super Slim LED TV Black LED-808 DN4 model is still available for purchase on the website.

Looking at the image of the box above, you will already learn key features of this TV upfront. And in case you have been wondering if this is a smart TV of some sort, no it is not. It's just a regular HD LED TV like many others of its kind around but this one has more functionalities, I think. Like for example, aside from the option to watch TV programs over the air or via cable service providers, you can also connect this Ace LED TV to your desktop computers or laptops, thanks to its HDMI and VGA ports located on its back panel. Though there is no WiFi connectivity nor Ethernet ports built-in, having the capability to be connected to the computer already enables you to surf the net on its massive 32-inch HD screen.

What's in the Box

Inside the box are only a couple of things. First there is there TV itself sporting a very thin profile. It's slimmest part is only 11cm. Second is the the two detachable stands, then the remote control that comes with two triple A batteries, and of course the user's manual guide. Yes it does support multiple connectivity options, but none of those cable wires are purchased with the TV. You can use your existing cable wires if you already have some, say from the PC or from the DVD or cable box. But if not, you can just purchase them from hardware or any computer shops.

ACE 32" Super Slim LED TV Black LED-808 DN4 key specs:
  • 32-inch High Definition LED TV
  • 1366 x 768 resolution
  • 60Hz refresh rate
  • 5ms response time
  • 60 Watts power consumption
  • HDMI, VGA, USB, Coaxial cable support
  • Component Video option
  • Headphone jack
As you can see in the image above, this Ace TV does not only have a very slim profile but also very slim bezels in all sides of the front panel. For its very affordable price tag, this is actually one of those rare beautiful TVs you can find nowadays that sports minimalist and slim design and supports multiple connectivity options. And just like many big TVs of today, this can also be mounted onto a wall which is nice especially for houses that have very limited space. And as usual, the wall mount has to be purchased separately.

Where are these ports located?

It's all situated at the back panel. The power cord is directly connected to the back, that means it is not removable like in other appliances. Two speakers are also located here, one on the lower left and another on the right side. Surprisingly, those speakers sound really good and loud which I really did not expect given its SRP. You see those oval-shaped buttons on the lower left part of the TV? Those are the HOME, MENU, SOURCE, CH+, CH-, VOL+ and VOL- in case the remote control goes missing or simply not available. Below is a clearer look.

More on this side of the TV.

It's all located here. All the ports that you need for different connection requirements. One thing I noticed is all of these ports are well-placed on the back and what I mean is they are easily accessible even if the TV is wall mounted. You can conveniently connect or remove a wire without the need to unmount the TV first especially if you don't have big hands like me. And it just weights about 6kg, lifting it does not gonna require much effort.

The camera I used for this unboxing and the lighting I had were not that good. But in reality, the display quality is really good in spite of only having an HD resolution. In this example, I played the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie via USB connection. The movie is in 1080p, though some noise or grains are visible in the screen especially when you are really close to it, but overall the image quality is still clear, colors are accurate and the playback is smooth during my quick test.

How I wish I had a PlayStation 4 so that I could test if this is also a good gaming companion for gamers on a budget. I will continue using this TV moving forward and try some of its functions and review its performance. Watch out for my full review.

Right now this ACE 32" SLIM HD LED TV is available on Lazada Philippines. As of posting, it's discounted price is just Php5,999 (orig price is Php9,999). Note that, discounts change on a daily basis.

It is worth the price? Php5,999, for its quality and features I wanna say definitely yes. The brand name may not attract you as much as Samsung or Sony does, but the quality is really good both in the physical design or in the display department.

  1. do you know where is the hard reset of this item without remote?

  2. How can I change source without remote?
