Asus Zenfone 3S Max Going Live in India Next Week

While the next generation of Zenfone devices aka Zenfone 4 series is expected to be launched globally in May at the upcoming Computex Taipei event, the Taiwanese company seems to be not done with the Zenfone 3 lineup yet. That is because next week the Indian market is looking forward to the official launch of yet another battery-centric device called the Asus ZenFone 3S Max.

As of this very moment, we have the Zenfone 3 Max with 5.2-inch display and another one with a bigger 5.5-inch display more high-end specs.  This Zenfone 3S Max model sits somewhere in between the two. It has the same 5.2-inch HD IPS display also with 2.5D glass layering on the screen, but it is equipped with the largest battery pack of all the Zenfone 3 Max lineup, compared to the previous two's more than 4000mAh, the 3S Max has 5000mAh. That massive of a battery pack along with 5.2" HD display and an octa-core processor from Mediatek, this should definitely last longer than its siblings in terms of up time in single charge. At most should be more than two days.

The very first version of this kind of device from Asus which is the Zenfone Max that was first launched locally in January 2016 has the same 5000mAh and this really lasts me more than two days of use. And unique to Zenfone Max series, this latest model is also capable of doubling as a powerbank to other devices through its reverse charging feature.

The Asus Zenfone 3S Max, apart from sporting the biggest battery in the Zen 3 series and having a slightly different design (fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button on front panel), it also comes pre-installed with the super latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS right out of the box with ZenUI 3.0 on top. Others only have Android 6.0 Marshmallow, though an update to Nougat is now on its way.

Asus ZenFone 3S Max specs:
  • 5.2-inch HD IPS Display
  • 1280 x 720 resolution
  • 2.5D Curved Glass
  • 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage
  • Supports microSD card up to 2TB
  • 13MP rear camera
  • 8MP front camera
  • Android 7.0 Nougat with ZenUI 3.0

This upcoming Zenfone 3S Max variant is expected to be launched in India on February 7, 2017 and to be available for online and offline purchase. However, it is not official yet as to how much this particular Zenfone 3 variant is going to be for. Hopefully this will also be released in the Philippines. If you would like to learn more about this handset, you can search unboxing videos of this device on YouTube, apparently a lot of tech bloggers abroad have already had their hands on this phone way ahead of the official launch.
