This is the All-New Nokia 3310 We Have Been Talking About

As promised and rumored since a few weeks ago, HMD Global has just officially unveiled its newest feature phone offering at the MWC 2017 that serves as a throwback and homage to the once-reigning phone maker in the world - Nokia - meet the all new Nokia 3310.

Of course the design is not as exactly as the old time favorite device of the same name, but HMD Global made it more modern both in terms of design and functionality yet without completely leaving the nostalgic feeling behind. Even the super famous and iconic Snake game has received a major revamp too in this device.

HMD Global said during the announcement at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, this Nokia 3310 will have up to 22 hours of talktime and up to one month of standby time as it is equipped with a 1200mAh removable battery.

The new Nokia 3310 sports a 2.4-inch polarized curved display in color, and it has 16MB default storage out of the box. I know that memory size is not going to impress anybody today, but HMD said it can hold a microSD card with up to 32GB in size. 32GB should be enough for the photos you maybe taking using this phone's 2MP shooter on the back (nope, there is no selfie camera on this one), save your favorite songs and play them back the phone's own MP3 player. 3.5mm headphone jack is also added here plus an FM Radio receiver.

Does it capable of surfing the web? Yes it does but not so fast as it only has 2G network support and will be available either in single or dual-SIM variant depending on the market. And being a feature phone, this does not run on Android OS, but on the Finnish company's own Nokia 30+ Series.

Nokia 3310 specs:
  • 2.4-inch Polarized Curved Color Display
  • QVGA resolution
  • Physical Keyboard
  • 16MB internal storage
  • Supports microSD card up to 32GB
  • 2MP rear camera with LED flash
  • Nokia 30+ Series OS
  • Bluetooth
  • 2G
  • Single-SIM or Dual-SIM
  • FM Radio
  • MP3 Player
  • 3.5mm jack
  • Warm Red, Dark Blue, Yellow, and Grey
  • 1200mAh removable battery
  • 49 Euros (Php2,600)

HMD Global said that all of their newly announced devices will be available globally sometime in the second quarter of the year. This Nokia 3310 is officially priced at just 49 Euros or about Php2,600 in Philippine peso. We don't know when exactly these phones will arrive in the country yet, but giving that Philippines was also a major market for Nokia, I guess it is safe to assume that the Nokia 6, Nokia, 5, Nokia 3, and Nokia 3310 will definitely be released here and it's just a matter of waiting.
