UPDATE: Everything About OPPO F3 So Far Including Pricing

OPPO F3 Plus

The yet-to-be-announced OPPO F3 smartphone is sort of official already. In addition to being already revealed that OPPO Philippines will be launching a smaller variant of the current OPPO F3 Plus device this coming May 4, there are also some other features and specs that the Chinese electronics giant has already released through their official Facebook page. So in this post, I will talk about these to see what are official and not official yet when it comes to this mysterious OPPO F3.

First of the things that we have learned is that the F3 will definitely be a smaller variant of the F3 Plus, I mean the name already gave that out since this series was officially unveiled a few weeks ago. When the OPPO F3 Plus was launched in the Philippines late last month, nothing was really mentioned about the F3 at all that I even thought it would never reach the Philippine market and that OPPO Philippines would just sell and focus on the F3 Plus just like what they did with the F1s series. But then last week, I found out I was wrong, the OPPO F3 would be here as well and it's going to sport a now standard 5.5-inch screen panel. Now in case you don't know yet, the F3 Plus bears a huge 6.0-inch from panel with Full HD resolution.

As for its resolution, OPPO Philippines revealed that it's going to have a 5.5-inch Full HD In-Cell Display. And that's nice, I thought we would still have a 720p on this one. And yes it's with a 2.5D curved glass panel.

If you loved the F3 Plus' overall outside appearance and study build such as the aluminum metal casing, chamferred and rounded edges, and capacitive home button housing the fingerprint scanner to name a few, you will definitely fall in love as well with this smaller sibling. Teasers, whether they are photos or videos, all tell us that the F3 will share almost the same looks as its bigger brother is having. In India, the F3 will also be launched on May 4 and they are partnering with the upcoming and most anticipated Indian epic historical movie "Baahubali" for this device's release, below is the promotional material OPPO released in that country. And it gives us a quick but clean look at the OPPO F3 smartphone. By the way, I have watched the first Baahubali movie last year, and I would say it's one of those spectacular non-Hollywood movies I have seen which means that I am also one of the people waiting for this sequel.

When it comes to color I like the black variants better than the gold ones, and since the F3 Plus has black version which looks really sleek and classy, it is highly likely that the F3 will also have one. In fact I was able to talk to one of the OPPO reps here in Davao and was told that a black OPPO F3 is a huge possibility as well.

Another two important things about smartphones are the memory or RAM and its internal storage. Thankfully OPPO Philippines has also revealed how much of these spaces we are going to get out of the F3 handset right off the bat, it's the same as those of the F3 Plus - 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Smooth navigation experience and plenty of room for all of our selfie and group photos are guaranteed. It's expandable too up to 256GB.

Of course, the main highlight of the F3 series, dual front facing camera. The OPPO F3 Plus has two selfie shooters, one with 16MP which is the primary and another with 8MP that is equipped with wide angle lens for wider background details or for group shots. As of the moment, the F3 is confirmed to have two front cameras as well at least according to OPPO Philippines' Facebook page. However, we don't know yet if the configurations on this one is gonna be the same as on the F3 Plus.

The photo above, which was recently released by OPPO Philippines, only says 16MP + Double View Group Selfie. The 16MP will definitely be the main selfie camera with all the the bells and whistles that OPPO has been offering with their recent devices, but what does the Double View Group Selfie mean? I really have no idea. Is it the same as 8MP with 120-degree wide angle lens on F3 Plus, probably yes and probably not. But one thing is for sure, it's going to bear the a wide-angled lens crafted for group selfie needs.

Now for the record, the local pricing for the OPPO F3 is definitely not official nor revealed yet. However, there was a report on YugaTech the other day claiming that they have talked to a "source close to OPPO" and gave them the tentative SRP for the said device, and it's Php16,990. The current OPPO F3 Plus version now sells for Php23,990 just to give you a quick comparison on this department.

Also the other day I was at one of the OPPO stores here in Davao City, I asked a couple of their sales staff about this F3 device especially on the pricing side of it. Though no one of them really confirmed the actual local SRP for this phone since it is not official yet, most of them were agreeing that the OPPO F3 could be priced around that same amount - Php16,990.

That's it for now regarding this upcoming OPPO F3 smartphone. So stay tuned as we get more information about it and until OPPO Philippines finally launches this smartphone in the country on May 4, 2017.

UPDATE: May 1, 2017.

It's Monday today which means we have about 4 days to go to finally meet the upcoming and highly-teased OPPO F3 smartphone in the Philippines. Just four days away and we are still getting additional details about this device straight from OPPO Philippines itself. So they just unveiled two more specs and those are the battery size and the rear camera configuration, which are two of the most important details in every smartphone. So how big are these specs going to be? Check out images below posted by OPPO PH on their Facebook page.

The OPPO F3 is going to have a 13MP rear camera that promises to capture "Wonderful Night Shots", that sounds like a great camera for even for low light photography. To give you again a bit of comparison, the F3 Plus has 16MP rear camera with a Sony sensor, f/1.7 aperture, and autofocus which again works really good even at night. However, we don't know yet if its going to have the same technology with just a smaller 13MP instead of 16MP.

Another thing they confirmed is the battery size. It's 3200mAh. Not as big as F3 Plus' 4000mAh but I think this one should be enough for daily use. Plus OPPO Philippines captioned this image on their FB post with "Long-lasting and fast-charging". So I assume this would also have the same fast charging tech found on the bigger version.

Stay tuned folks, I think we will still to hear more until this Friday.
