The Smaller OPPO F3 is Coming this May 4

Now one of the questions I had during the official launch of the dual-selfie camera-equipped F3 Plus has just been answered. Why was still there an F3 naming in the poster and marketing materials sitting next to F3 Plus (F3 | F3 Plus) when only one device was announced by OPPO at the March 23 local event? That is because they still planned to release this smaller one at a much later date. And OPPO Philippines has officially confirmed it through a teaser they posted on their Facebook page earlier today. The F3 will arrive in the Philippines on May 4.

As of this very moment though, the information surrounding this new Selfie Expert is extremely limited except for a couple of things. What I know right is that the OPPO F3 will definitely be a smaller variant of the already-released OPPO F3 Plus, no screen size has been revealed nor leaked yet but we can expect this to be around 5.5-inch. Some specs could be slightly watered down as well. That might not be a good news for you, but that will also mean the price is going to be more affordable than F3 Plus' hefty Php23,990 asking price right now.

Today OPPO PH has confirmed that the F3 variant will also bear the same dual front facing cameras found in the Plus variant, 16MP for the primary and 8MP for the secondary snapper with wide-angle lens. The dual front camera on the Plus works really good as well as the one on its back, so hopefully that will be the same case too for the F3.

"The newest Selfie Expert joins OPPO's family of dual selfie camera smartphones following the successful nationwide sale of the F3 Plus beginning April 1. Like the F3 Plus, the OPPO F3 inherits the same dual front camera design which includes a 16MP main camera for individual selfies, as well as an 8MP wide-angle secondary camera for group snaps." said OPPO Philippines via Press Release.
OPPO further revealed that for perfect group photos, users can "simply switch to 'Group Selfie' mode to expand the camera's field of view. The sub-camera's 6P lens further prevents image distortion, while OPPO's premiere photo editing software, Beautify 4.0, ensures a flawless look."

I had the opportunity to try the OPPO F3 Plus a couple of weeks ago and I am happy to share that I really liked the phone. In fact I even wrote my top five favorites about the F3 Plus here. And while I like smartphones with bigger screens, like this one, the F3 Plus' 6.0-inch display is just too big for some users' hands. That being said, I think the 5.5-inch variant, if found to be true, would be a much more appealing option for those users who backed away from the F3 Plus' gigantic display.

Most probably the OPP F3 will sport the same design and looks too both front and back, and will come in black variant as well just like the bigger one. But of course we really don't until the phone is officially launched.

To learn more about this upcoming OPPO smartphone, kindly stay tuned and watch out for the official announcement on May 4.
