Cherry Mobile Enters Dual-Cam Market with Desire R8


2017 is indeed the year of dual-camera smartphones. Smartphone titans, except Samsung apparently, and new players have already released their own dual camera-e quipped devices this year and from what we are seeing more and more of these devices will continue to flood the market as we move forward. Cherry Mobile is one of the latest brands to jump into the bandwagon which is now offering a couple of handsets with two shooters on the rear, and the Desire R8 is the most recent one in the bunch.

The Cherry Mobile Desire R8 houses dual back cameras which are pegged at 13MP and 5MP with autofocus and LED flash while the front face has 8MP for selfie needs and occasional video calling purposes.

Embedded inside the Desire R8 are the octa-core processor from MediaTek clocked at 1.5GHz, 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. It also supports microSD card for storage expansion for as big as 64GB. And it's running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.

For connectivity needs, the Cherry Mobile Desire R8 supports the usual features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, as well as dual-SIM functionality and LTE. This also comes with a USB Type-C port for transferring files and charging the phone. And then for security, most Cherry Mobile fans will be happy to know that this device is equipped Fingerprint Scanner.

While the Cherry Mobile Desire R8 has those nice specs and features that many of us budget conscious users will love to have on a not so much expensive smartphone, this device is expected to be retailed for Php9,999. Unfortunately we don't know yet as to when this phone will be officially released.
