Samsung Sells More than 5 Million Galaxy S8 Smartphones Already

According to The Investor, an unnamed source told them that Samsung Electronics has already sold more than five million units of the current Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ units worldwide. If found to be accurate, then it's actually a great milestone for the Korean giant despite having some setbacks with their Galaxy Note 7 that was released and recalled late last year, and the fact that it has just been less than a month since the phones were officially released in select markets.

"Although we cannot provide detailed figures, the sales are going smoothly around the globe. The combined sales already are beyond 5 million units," The Investor report said citing an unnamed Samsung official who confirmed the achievement.

This five million claim only refers to the unit actually sold to end users. Now a new report on Android Authority says that Samsung confirmed that over 10 million S8 and S8 Plus devices have been shipped to retailers and carriers worldwide since launch. And that these latest flagships' performance in sales is about 20 to 30 higher than the previous S7 and S7 Edge series.

Samsung is expected to formally reveal more and officially confirm these report in the coming days or weeks. When or if that happens, it appears that the S8 and S8+ are going to be the best selling Galaxy S device the company has ever released. When are we going to hear that? No one knows actually, maybe after the devices are completely rolled out to over 120 markets around the globe by the end of the month.
