OnePlus 5 with Snapdragon 835 and Dual Camera has been Announced

After tons of leaks, countless rumors, and occasional teasers, the most anticipated flagship killer of 2017, OnePlus 5 smartphone, has just been made officially launched. And as some of the early releases have previously confirmed, this Android smartphone and its manufacturer is the latest joiner in the dual camera scene. The OnePlus 5 packs 16MP primary rear RGB camera with f/1.7 aperture, paired with 20MP secondary monochrome sensor with f/2.6 aperture lens. These two shooters work pretty much the same as those of iPhone 7, offering a much more rich detailed photos with super enhanced on the bokeh effect and Portrait Mode.

But the OnePlus 5 power and main selling point does not end with its cameras. Powering this latest iteration is the latest and most powerful Qualcomm chip yet, Snapdragon 835 with eight cores and clocked up to 2.45GHz. Not all 2017 flagships are powered by this processor such as LG G6 or the Zenfone AR. Memory wise, the OnePlus 5 will be shipped in two configurations, one in 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and another in 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. Unfortunately there is no microSD card support on this device.
As for the display, OnePlus equipped this with a 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED Display. You maybe disappointed since this does not come with stunning screen-to-body ratio like on LG G6 or Galaxy S8 and Quad HD resolution, but according to the video released by The Verge titled "Making the OnePlus 5", the company said they would love to create such display design, it's just that they don't have access to the technology at the moment. That's understandable since OnePlus is still relatively a new and small company compared to the likes of Korean electronics giants. However, now that they have already mentioned that, maybe we'll see it in the next installment for 2018.

This is what the company is known for since releasing their OnePlus 1 device a couple of years ago. The 6GB/64Gb version will cost $479 while the bigger 8GB/128GB will be for $539 before tax. No word yet as to when and how much these phones will cost when launched in the Philippines.
