According to a report from The Verge, HMD Globay will finally launch the most anticipated Nokia-branded smartphone of the year. The much rumored and leaked Nokia 8 is said to be formally unveiled on August 16th event in London as stated on the invites that HMD Global has sent to media.

It is expected to be HMD Global's first Nokia flagship smartphone offering since acquiring the rights to use Nokia name on their devices. This is also going to be the first device from the company to come out with dual 13MP camera on the back with Carl Zeiss optics.
The Nokia 8 is rumored to sport a 5.3-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution, the latest and most powerful Snapdragon 835 processor and either 4GB or 6GB RAM. And of course the latest Android 7.1 Nougat OS is said to run this device on.

Above was the image that was recently leaked via VentrureBeat's Evan Blass aka @evleaks showing the alleged final design for the Nokia 8. It looks pretty stunning phone, even though it does not have the edge-to-edge or bezel-less type of screen from the likes of Galaxy S8 and LG G6. That front panel with what appears to be a 2.5D curved glass and the two camera modules on the back with Carl Zeiss branding are just enough to make hardcore Nokia fans to get excited about the phone.

August 16 is still a pretty long wait but definitely closer than ever, so expect more and more leaks and rumors hitting the web as we approach the launch date of the Nokia 8.
