The new Moto Z2 Force is an insanely expensive smartphone

Last year's Moto Z Force has just got a new generation model for the year 2017 and it's called the Moto Z2 Force. This smartphone was just made official in the US today and it bears an extremely hefty price sticker, at least in this country - $720, and even higher from AT&T at $810.

Right off the bat, the Moto Z2 Force offers the same 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 resolution) display from the Moto Z Force which also has its unique screen protection called ShatterShield to avoid the screen from being, you know, shattered. This Lenovo-owned company now uses Series 7000 aluminum materials for the Z2 Force's body and that will definitely make the outer casing even tougher yet lighter compared to other competitors.

The Moto Z2 Force is no doubt one of the slimmest smartphones we can find around even in this year of 2017. Coming in at just 6mm thick, the Moto Z2 Force is almost a millimeter thinner than its predecessor. While this is an incredible achievement for a smartphone, it does not come with some trade offs. One of those is the company had to also decrease the size of the phone's battery. Last year's Moto Z Force had a massive 3500mAh battery back, but this Z2 Force now only carries 2730mAh. Knowing that this is equipped with a Quad HD display and an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor is something we need to look closely on how it's going to perform up time wise.

Another and still probably one of the sacrifices, to achieve the thinnest possible profile for a device, that so many users around the globe still do not accept is the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack port from the smartphone.

The phone's design is very similar to its predecessors and the reason behind it is to make sure that all the existing MotoMods would still work perfectly with this Moto Z2 Force. In case you have forgotten, MotoMods are modular snap-on accessories that are attached to the phone's back via magnet and are exclusively made for the latest Motorola smartphones. MotoMods include speakers, camera, battery pack and many others.

If there is one most exciting feature of this latest Moto Z2 Force, that would be its dual camera setup on its rear. Yes, Moto Z2 Force is the first handset from the series to join this dual camera arena. There are two 12MP shooters on the back equipped with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection and laser autofocus. These two cameras work similar to that of Huawei P9 and P10 series, one in RGB and another in Monochrome which work together to capture the best photo possible with much more details in it. Front camera is pegged at 5MP.
