Android O coming to all ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 4 lineup Asus promises

In addition to the freshly launched ZenFone 4 series of smartphones from ASUS, there is also a big news that the Taiwanese company dropped during the announcement yesterday. This news has to do with the super latest and upcoming Android O (unfortunately, it still does not have official name up until today). ASUS said they will be releasing the Android O update to all the ZenFone 4 and last year's ZenFone 3 lineup.

All ASUS ZenFone 3 smartphones, including these brand new ZenFone 4 series, are all running the Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, some even have the most current 7.1.1 version already. This is actually not bad since Android O, aka Android 8.0, is still not officially rolled out to users yet, but it is expected to be in the next couple of months.

Now once the Android O software becomes available to manufacturers like ASUS, they will start working on the version incorporating with their ZenUI interface and then release the update to its users as soon as the work is done. And speaking of ZenUI, ASUS also promised to come the Android O with its latest ZenUI 4.0 interface to be more simplified, intuitive, and with munch lesser bloatware. ASUS said they will be stripping 35 pre-installed application from current version down to just about 13 apps on ZenUI 4.0. And that is something really good, which means ASUS is really listening to all its users and reviewers.

Sadly, ASUS did not mention when we can really expect the first wave of update to hit these ZenFone devices, but they said that they target to complete the roll out by second half of 2018.
