ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro to wield dual front camera modules

Interestingly there was no official Zenfone 3 Selfie that ASUS released last year, however, for this year, it looks like that OPPO and Vivo will have a worthy challenger in the selfie loving community of users in the Philippines. ASUS is going to bring back the selfie-centric Zenfone with the latest series as recent leaks show the dual front camera-sporting ZenFone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro.

ASUS is expected to formally launch the new ZenFone 4 series as early as August 17 in its home country of Taiwan, then followed by local event on August 19. Surprisingly, a France-based website of ASUS accidentally listed these two phones on the site ahead of official launch. The pages are now taken down as of writing

Thankfully, before the product pages were taken down, eagle eyed enthusiasts were able to grab some photos of the devices as well as some key specs of the phones.

Like the recent smartphone offerings from OPPO and Vivo, based on most recent leaks, it appears that ASUS will finally release latest variants of its Selfie series with dual front facing camera modules. According to the ASUS FR site, there will be two of these variants - the ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro. The former will have 20MP+8MP selfie camera while the latter will sport 24MP+5MP front camera combinations, these shooters will work similar to OPPO and Vivo's dual camera smartphones, the secondary will have 120-degree wide angle lens for a better groupie pics. On the back is a single 16MP camera.

In addition to the front camera configurations, the leaks also suggest a couple more differences between the standard Zenfone 4 Selfie and the Pro versions. One of those is the display resolution. Both of the phones will sport the same 5.5-inch screen size, however the regular Selfie will only have 720p IPS display while the Pro will be at 1080p with AMOLED display. Also, the processor will be different as well. Snapdragon 430 for the Selfie and Snapdragon 625 for the Selfie Pro.

Both Selfie variants will be equipped with 4GB RAM and default 64GB internal storage with support yo microSD card for storage expansion needs. And then keeping the light on for the two devices is a standard 3000mAh battery pack.
