Nokia 8 now official with Snapdragon 835, 5.3" QHD, and Dual Zeiss Camera

The one of the most rumored, leaked, and anticipated smartphones of year, now officially called Nokia 8, has been finally launched by HMD Global company at an event that was held in London very recently.

When HMD Global initially unveiled the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 a couple of months back, many hardcore Nokia fans were a bit disappointed with HMD since these phones were entry to midrange devices in terms of specs, design, and features. So today, most if not all of those fans are going to be happy to hear about this Nokia 8 as it sports top of the line features we can usually find today on a flagship Android smartphone.

First off is the Nokia 8 will run the most recent Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, it is a pure Android version straight from Google, which is again many Android fans would love to see on a device from well known brands. Also, the Finish company has previously confirmed that Android O will be arriving to all the current Nokia Android phones including this Nokia 8.

It is an all-metal unibody smartphone with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 dominating the front panel. Underneath the glass protection is a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2560x1440 resolution) IPS display. Unfortunately, HMD Global did not go edge-to-edge screen design with the Nokia 8 like those of Galaxy S8 series and LG G6 smartphones. But as you can see in the image below, the side bezels are extremely thin, except for the upper and lower bezels where the fingerprint scanner-embedded home key alongside back and recent app capacitive keys and 13MP front camera are located.

Speaking of camera, one of the most exciting offerings of the Nokia 8 is its cameras. As the leaked and rumor suggested, this smartphone comes with dual rear camera setup. Both shooters are configured with 13MP resolution. The setup for these two cameras are similar to iPhone 7 and Huawei P10 series, one in RGB and another in Monochrome. Additionally, these sensors also feature Zeiss optics, this will allow the camera to capture more details and depth and stunning photos.

Another flagship feature of this phone is the processor, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 chip paired with 4GB RAM and default 64GB expandable storage. Underneath the back panel sits a 3090mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
