Doogee Mix 2 is a New 18:9 Smartphone with Quad Camera

There is a new 18:9 aspect ratio contender in the smartphone field, called the Doogee Mix 2. This follows the first entry of the Chinese manufacturer in the country with its original Mix device that was initially launched locally a couple of months back.

It is actually kind of unexpected by many enthusiasts since the first Doogee Mix, which offers the same "bezel-less" but wider display, is a relatively new device in the scene. Whatever the reason for that very short interval was, only Doogee Mobile will know. But this Doogee Mix 2 is a pretty premium-looking device and most likely to be an affordable one, reports said it is expected to be priced at around $200 (roughly Php10,000 in our currency).

While the original Doogee Mix is a beautiful phone, thanks to its almost zero-bezel display, I think the new Mix 2 rocks looks that is way more appealing to many users especially those who want to experience this new trend in smartphone for a much lower asking price. I much prefer a taller type of device than a wider one because that makes single hand operation much easier. In addition to the Mix 2's 18:9 aspect ratio display, it now also sports rounded corners which is a really nice addition to this type of display.

Additionally, the surprise does not end there. The Doogee Mix 2 has four cameras in total, two on the back and another two on the front. Rear shooters have 16MP + 13MP combination while selfie cameras have dual 8MP sensors. It is an interesting one, quad-camera equipped smartphones is still an extremely rare sight at the moment.

For security purposes, users will have a regular fingerprint scanner with this phone sitting right below the rear cameras, plus it also has a 3D Facial Recognition technology. Software wise, it is running on the current Android 7.1 Nougat. Sadly, the Doogee Mix 2 won't have a 3.5mm audiojack, instead there will be a USB Type-C port for charging and music listening. It is also packed with a massive 4060mAh battery right out of the box.

Powering the device is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor, the same chip found on its predecessor, paired with a massive 6GB RAM and 128GB default internal storage. MicroSD card support is still present on this handset and it can handle up to 256GB of size.
