Vivo V7+ with 18:9 Aspect Ratio Screen Now Official

Vivo is the latest electronics giant in the world to follow the newest trend in smartphone scene - edge-to-edge display - with the official launch of its next generation devices. The Vivo V7+ or V7 Plus has just been made official in India and is expected to hit the local shelves as early as September 15.

There are a couple of exciting features about this Vivo V7+ smartphone. First off is its near-bezel less display which is very similar to those found on LG G6, LG Q6, Samsung Galaxy S8 series and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Each of these companies I just mentioned named their wide-screen display technology uniquely, Samsung has InfinityDisplay while LG has FullVision. For Vivo, they are calling it FullView display. And the Vivo V7+ has the same 18:9 aspect ratio as LG G6 flagship device.

While the aspect ratio and the bezels are extremely slim on the Vivo V7+, which by the way make the device really nice and sexy to look at, its resolution will for sure disappoint many fans and smartphone enthusiasts. It's not Quad-HD nor Full HD, but a 1440 x 720 resolution across its 6.0-inch display panel. On top of it is a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and more classy look and feel.

Another interesting feature of this handset is its camera department. This is also marketed as a selfie-centered smartphone just like its previous iterations in the form of V3 and V5 lineup, however, there is dual camera setup to be found here. Instead, users will have a massive 24MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 16MP rear camera shooter also with the same f/2.0 aperture lens.

Next is the processor. The Vivo V7+ is one of the first Android smartphones to be powered by the latest 400 series of chips from Qualcomm - Snapdragon 450. It's an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. Working alongside this SoC are Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. For storage, it's pretty standard at 64GB but can still be expanded via microSD card through SIM 2 slot with up to 256GB.

As for the software side, it will be running on Vivo's FunTouch OS version 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. See more specs below.

However, since this is a flagship offering like the previous V3 and V5 series, this V7+ is most likely to be offered here. In fact, one of the gadget stores from Davao City called TekPone, has somewhat confirmed that it will definitely be sold here for "less than Php20K" sometime this month of September.

In India, the Vivo V7+ is priced at Rs 21,990.
