AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2018 is Happening in July

Okay, I am sad to report that I missed last year's AsiaPOP Comicon Manila (poor me). But the good news is, it's not too late or end of the world yet for fans like me, as the biggest comic-con event in the country is returning this year and they are a month earlier than usual schedule. If you are a fan of this annual all-things-geek convention, you know that it usually happens in the last week of August. This 2018 though, it's going to be in July.

In a surprising announcement made a couple of days ago on its official Facebook page, the AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2018 is to take place on July 27-29, 2018. And the venue will still be at SMX Convention Center in Pasig City.

As of posting, only the official dates have been revealed as well as the venue and nothing more. We still don't know who the guests are going to be or what other new stuff we can expect from the APCC Manila 2018. And I think that's fine, knowing the event dates this early will definitely give us more time to plan our schedules way ahead especially for fans who are living outside of Manila. This will also give us, non-Manila or non-Luzon people enough time to save up for the entrance fees, hotel accommodations, souvenirs, and airfare (hopefully CebuPac will run new Piso Sale offering very soon).

As for ticket pricing, we also have no idea if it's going to be same as last year or if we are to see a price increase this time around. We'll have to wait a little bit longer on that, but to give some of us an idea of what to expect, at least, see a poster below posted by AsiaPOP Comicon Manila on their Facebook page last year showing the ticket pricing for 1 to 3 day passes.

According to the poster above, a one-day pass was for only Php600, Php900 for a two-day pass, and Php1,100 for a three-day pass. Children who are 5 years old and below are free of charge for all days.

In addition to the official ticket pricing, the poster also shows some of their biggest celebrity guests such as Ray Fisher (Cyborg in Justice League movie) and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman in Supergirl TV series) as well as some cosplayers, artists, and creators who graced the APCC 2017. They even had some actors from Netflix's Stranger Things series. Watch the video highlights below to see what exactly took place during the AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2017, and also to you give you an idea of what to expect in case this is the first time you are hearing about this annual gathering of fans, geeks, and creators here in the Philippines.
