DJI Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal Announced with $129 Price Tag

The popular smartphone gimbal and drone maker, DJI, has just announced a brand new camera phone stabilizer called the Osmo Mobile 2 at this year's CES 2018 tech expo in Las Vegas. One of the most surprising things about this new smart stabilizer is that it is priced very affordably. Way cheaper than its predecessor. How cheap? The Osmo Mobile 2 is going to be offered for only $129, the original Osmo Mobile debuted with $299 asking price. That's about Php6,500 in our currency.

The $129 price tag is definitely more appealing than ever, as gimbal pricing is what makes many interested users get turned off when they try to shop one. But this Osmo Mobile 2, especially if able to deliver its promises, will for sure reach the bigger user base all around the globe.

DJI has made notable changes and tweaks with the Osmo Mobile 2. First off, it now houses a rechargeable in-device battery which is promised to last up to 15 hours of use on a single charge. That is actually a huge improvement over the first iteration where it only offers about 3 to 4.5 hours of use per battery charge.

And like it's predecessor, the Osmo Mobile 2 can handle any smartphone size from almost every brand we know. Even the plus-size ones from Apple and Samsung like Galaxy Note 8 should have no problem fitting in this stabilizer. In addition to the usual Landscape mode in capturing videos, this new installment can now record films in Portrait mode, perfect for livestreaming on social media or doing Stories on Instagram and Facebook.

Pre-order for DJI Osmo Mobile 2 will start on Apple store on January 23 and will expect to go on sale by February 2018.
