ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 is Coming to the Philippines

To be clear, ASUS Philippines itself has not made any sort of official announcement nor teaser about its other "Battery King" smartphone called the ZenFone Max Pro M1 that was recently launched in India, that they will also release the phone in the local market. However, if we base our assumption on what we see on the company's own PH website, it appears that they will really bring this smartphone to the Philippine market very soon.

Camera

The ZenFone Max Pro M1's rear cameras come in pair as well and in two different configurations depending on the storage variant you are getting. There is 13MP + 5MP for 32GB and another with 16MP + 5MP for the 64GB, both with up to f/2.0 aperture for the brightest photo quality possible especially when captured in low light conditions. This dual-rear camera can also record up to 4K videos (3840 x 2160), according to the website listing.

For selfie cameras, the 32GB variant has 8MP while the other has a much more attractive 16MP shooter.

In addition to the standard Fingerprint scanner which is situated on the back of this device that unlocks the phone with up to five prints and as fast as 0.3sec, there is also the Face Recognition Unlock feature that uses the front camera.

Massive Battery Pack

Bearing the "Max" moniker in the ZenFone series simply means having the largest battery among the lineup. That being said, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 has the humongous 5000mAh battery pack inside it. According to ASUS, this will provide users up to 42 hours of 3G Talktime, 28 hours of web browsing via WiFi, 20 hours of YouTube playback, and 12 hours of gaming. Or 35 days uptime on Standby mode.

A device having this massive of a battery will definitely take more time to charge than the usual smartphones around. Well that maybe right, but among its division, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is one of the fastest, thanks to the phone's Flash Charge technology. ASUS said, it should only take about 2 hours and 42 minutes to fully charge this phone from 0% to 100%. That sounds cool, actually.

Pure Android Experience

Another treat that Zen fans will definitely appreciate about this big-batt handset is the implementation of nothing but pure Android 8.1 Oreo version. Yes that's right! There is no ZenUI anywhere on the device, just pure Android experience which I think a ton of Android users are really wanting from their favorite smartphone manufacturers.

Power and Storage

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 mobile platform processor with Andreno 509 alongside it. And from what we are seeing on the webpage, it appears we will be getting a 3GB / 32GB and 4GB / 64GB variants. And that space is not enough for users, there is a third slot for microSD card that can hold up to 2TB.

More Immersive Display

All this features and powerful specs are all experienced through the phone's massive 6.0-inch display. Now since this device, like may recent ones, also has this taller 18:9 aspect ratio display. This means more display panel and extremely thinner bezels than traditional handsets. ASUS claims that this phone's physical dimensions is still pretty similar to a regular 5.5-inch device. This means you will feel almost no difference between the two, except for having a much taller and wider display panel.

I think this is also the first time that ASUS is aiming its battery-centric device at mobile gamers. ASUS tags this smartphone with "Limitless Gaming" phrase as well. So having this massive of a display with Full HD+ resolution, powerful processor, huge storage options, and ultra-long lasting battery pack, I guess that would be the case for users who are gamers as well. And to complement that gaming and entertainment experience, ASUS included a 5-magnet loudspeaker and NXP smart amplifier for lower distortion and higher volume that promise to "deliver powerful, emotional sounds in every scenario, and at supreme quality levels".

The webpage for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 did not mention anything about the local pricing nor availability yet. But if we look at the Indian pricing of the phone, looks like it will be priced aggressively even for Philippine market.

In India the 3GB / 32GB model sports a Rs10,999 sticker and that's about Php8,500 while the larger 4GB / 64GB model has Rs12,999 or around Php10,100 when directly converted.

Now that the device is already up on the ASUS Philippines website, I guess we can assume that it will indeed be coming very soon. We'll let you know once we heard new updates on this phone, especially about the pricing and availability.
