UPDATE: OPPO's Flagship Smartphone Called "Find X" Now Formally Launched

After tons and tons of teasers and leaks online about OPPO's very first flagship smartphone in almost half a decade, the new and most powerful and most beautiful OPPO device officially called Find X is now formally launched!

One of the most teased features of the OPPO Find X was its display. We were expecting it to sport an almost all-screen display with almost non-existent bezels, and then what we got is a much more beautiful device with a total of 92.25% screen-to-body ratio and with the curving side glasses. And most of all, there is no notch seen anywhere on the massive Full HD+ AMOLED 6.4-inch display. So if there is no notch and the bezels are barely there, then where is the front camera?

Surprisingly, OPPO implemented a motorized system on the Find X to keep the bezels to its thinnest and get rid of the notch altogether. So what happens is, when you launch the camera app, the 25MP front camera pops up automatically. Both front and rear cameras (16MP and 20MP combo) are hidden underneath this mechanical moving part on the other side, they only pop out when needed. I guess this is a cool way to do it and to achieve these frontal features. This will also keep the camera lenses from being scratched and having smudges, but the other concern will be how reliable or how long will last the motorized part of the device. Also, since the top head of the device pops out, how users will be able to use a protective casing if they want to?

The OPPO Find X, as previously confirmed, is powered by top of the line and latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor pair with either  8GB RAM and up to 256GB default storage. In addition to the dual-SIM functionality that supports up to LTE network, the device can also use microSD card for additional storage space.

Another surprising details this device revealed is the lack of fingerprint scanner. It is not found on the chin, on the back, nor even under the display like that of Vivo NEX smartphone (which also has a motorized front camera). Instead, the phone implements a 3D facial scanning technology housed on the front camera to authenticate users. How it works is users will need to wake up the display, then slide up on the lock screen, and the front camera will pop up to scan users' face as fast as 0.5sec, once scanning is complete then the selfie camera will slide back in.

The Chinese smartphone is maker also included a VOOC Flash charge on the Find X. With its 3730mAh battery, should be charged back up pretty fast from 0%.

UPDATE: June 20th. The OPPO Find X will retail for 999 Euros (Php61,000) and will ship in August. This is the phone's international pricing, so there's a possibility that Philippines will have a different SRP, let's just hope that it will be a little less expensive.

OPPO also revealed an Automobili Lamborghini Edition of the Find X with a much larger 512GB storage all complete with Larmbo-themed customization for 1,699 Euros or Php105,000.
