Vivo NEX Smartphone with In-Display Fingerprint Scanner Now Official

It is now finally official! At least in China. The new Vivo NEX smartphone sporting an under-display fingerprint sensor and an insane 91% screen-to-body ratio, pop-up front camera, top-of-the-line specs and extremely thin bezels to name a few of its exciting features has now been made officially launched.

The Vivo NES smartphone is a first of its kind, in a way. Mainly because the company managed to produce a smartphone with a much larger and taller display without the need of adapting a notch-equipped screen while all at the same time ridding off the camera, sensor, and earpiece from the front panel altogether. The solution was to embed the the phone's 8MP selfie camera at the top of the phone and users would simply pop it out when needed. And as for the earpiece, Vivo implemented a cool new technology as well called Screen SoundCasting, which turns the entire front panel display into a speaker.

Another awesome feature that Vivo incorporated with the NES is the in-display functionality. The lower part of the phone's screen is capable of reading fingerprints where users can unlock the phone. Vivo says it is now their third-generation of under-display technology which has improved a lot on speed since the tech's initial launch earlier this year.

Apart from the beautifully designed smartphone, the Vivo NES is also a powerhouse of a device bearing the best specs and hardware available to the market. First off the list is its processor. It uses the latest chipset by Qualcomm called the Snapdragon 845 alongside an Adreno 630 GPU and a massive 8GB of RAM to run the entire show right out of the box. Storage wise, users will enjoy its default 256GB ROM.

As for its cameras, the Vivo NEX has a dual rear camera setup pegged at 12MP and 5MP combination all equipped with up to f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, optical image stabilization and dual tone LED flash.
