HMD Global Introduces The New Nokia 2.1 and 3.1 Smartphones in Davao City

On August 16, 2018, HMD Philippines went to Davao City once again to formally introduce their newest Android smartphone offerings to the local fans, bloggers, and members of the media - meet the latest Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 3.1 devices.

These two new Android-powered smartphones were formally and personally introduced to us by Mr. Shannon Mead who is the HMD Global Philippines' Country Manager and he said...

"At HMD Global, innovation means merging premium quality with affordability and accessibility. The Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 are just two of the breakthroughs we are proud to bring to Davao as one of our key markets. Both Nokia Android smartphones are designed with the technology to keep up with the DavaoeƱos' productivity and style."

The Nokia 2.1

This device's highlight is its massive 4000mAh battery life that HMD Global claims to last up to 2 days on a single charge. This phone's screen has a large 5.5-inch HD display resolution is about 20% bigger than its predecessor, and then there's the dual front facing speakers with bespoke 3D formed stainless steel detail that provides amazing stereo sound.

As you may have already noticed, this is the Nokia 2's successor which was originally launched in the Philippines in February of this year. And aside from the new dual speakers, the processor on this phone has also been upgraded. From Snapdragon 212 it now has Snapdragon 425 that's about 50 percent faster and smoother in operation, so switching between apps on the go is not going to be a hassle here.

And while the Nokia 2.1 only bears 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage right out of the box, it comes pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition. Go Edition means the Android operating system it carries is custom-optimized for devices with lower spec sheet like 2GB of RAM and 8GB storage. App and software will definitely perform well as expected with less data consumption in the process. And to achieve this feat the Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition on this device comes pre-installed with Google Go web search app, Google Maps Go, YouTube Go. It also comes with Android Assistant Go which can be used to quickly send messages, make calls, set alarms and more.
