Nokia X7 aka Nokia 7.1 Plus Now Official in China

As expected, HMD Global has officially launched the new Nokia X7 in the Chinese market. If the recent history is any indication, this model will likely be released in the international market as the Nokia 7.1 Plus since the previous China-only Nokia X5 and X6 were released globally as the Nokia 5.1 Plus and 6.1  Plus respectively.

On paper, the Nokia X7 sports almost flagship-like specs but with an asking price that is way below that many would expect, at least that's how we see it for the Chinese market.

The Nokia X7 is equipped with 6.2-inch FullHD+ PureView display, still has the notch like its siblings, as well as 2.5D curved glass. Powering this device will be an octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor paired with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. Storage wise, there will be 64GB or 128GB. It is still expandable via microSD card up to 400GB.

Like the other two, the Nokia 7.1 Plus also boasts dual rear camera which are pegged at 12MP + 13MP combo. But what makes it different from the lineup is that it packs ZEISS optics hopefully to provide much much even better photography quality. And then the front is at 20MP for selfies and video recording.

In China, it is not going to be under Android One program but will still receive regular updates together with the Android 9 Pie later this year.
