Huawei Mate X is a Foldable Smartphone with Php136,000 Price Tag

Following Samsung's official announcement of their first ever foldable Galaxy Fold smartphone, Huawei just unveiled their own folding device during the MWC 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. The said device is simply called Mate X. And to be honest, it looks more futuristic, more attractive, and even more accurate way of being done than Samsung's, at least on the outside.

The Huawei Mate X boasts a wide 8-inch OLED display when unfolded with QHD resolution, equivalent to 2480 x 2200 pixel arrangement. When folded we are looking at two separate screen configurations, yes that massive display is folded outward unlike Samsung Galaxy Fold where the main display is on the inside. The Mate X's front screen when folded will have a 6.6-inch 2480 x 1148 display resolution while on the back would be a 6.4-inch panel with a bit lesser resolution at 2480 x 892 arrangement.

Apart from a folding device that appears to sport great display quality and extremely thin bezels, the Mate X will also support the next 5G network, thanks to Huawei's proprietary and brand new Balong 5000 5G modem embedded at the heart of this hybrid device. Processing wise, this will be powered by Kirin 980 chip which is also a Huawei's own technology. Alongside this chipset is 6GB of RAM and a staggering-yet-still expandable 512GB internal storage. Similar to Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the Mate X will use Huawei's own nano-memory card up to 256GB.

On the camera side, there will be a Leica triple setup. The primary shooter will rock a 40MP wide-angle lens and f1.8 aperture, a secondary one with 20MP equipped with ultra-wide angle and f2.2 aperture, and a third shooter with 8MP telephoto lens. An AI stabilization will be part of the party as well.

Keeping the lights on is a 4500mAh battery supporting a 55W super fast charging technology by Huawei as well. It is so fast that according to the Chinese company will charge the device from 0 to 85% in just 30 minutes.
