Realme 3 Formally Arrives in PH With Price Starting at Php6,990

It is no doubt that Realme's first smartphone offering in the Philippines, the Realme C1, that was launched in November in the local market is an extremely successful release especially among the budget-conscious users who want a device that can provide the most yet at the same time attached with a super pocket-friendly price tag. And based on Realme Philippines' latest offerings, it appears that the success C1 has achieved will continue even further through the Realme 3 smartphone.

The Realme 3 will be released in the Philippines in three variants differentiated by their RAM and internal storage sizes. There will be 3GB/32GB, 3GB/64GB, and 4GB/64GB. Apart from these, the rest of the specs, designs, and features remain the same for all models.

Upfront is a 6.22-inch HD+ display with dewdrop notch that houses the 13MP selfie camera. The back cover sports a polycarbonate materials with gradient color pattern in Dynamic Black and Radiant Blue selections. Also on this side are the dual rear cameras with 13MP and f1.8 for the primary and 2MP secondary shooter with f2.4 aperture. If you missed the traditional fingerprint scanner on the Realme C1, Realme 3 is bringing it back and it is situated on this part of the phone alongside the LED flash.

Its processor is one of those specs that makes this Realme 3 a very interesting device. Inside it is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor. In case you have lost track, other smartphones that are being powered by this same chip are OPPO F9 Pro, Nokia 5.1 Plus, and Vivo V11i to name a few that are priced way higher than the Realme 3.

On the software side, the device is running the latest Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6 right out of the box. In terms of connectivity, apart from the dual SIM slot, there is still a third one dedicated for a microSD card for storage expansion. Another exciting thing about this smartphone is its massive 4230mAh that will surely last for up to two days on a single charge.

While the Realme 3 is also a pretty good choice as a gaming smartphone on a budget, its camera is still one of its best offerings. Nightscape and Chroma Boost are two of its camera modes that I would really love to try. So far, based on what I have been seeing on social media sites, photos captured using the Nightscape mode look really great.

Gaming wise, this phone looks promising as well. While this Helio P60 has been around since at least last year, it is still a pretty capable processor. Partner that with the phone's 3GB and 4GB RAM, it will be one of the unstoppable within its price range.

When I reviewed the Realme C1, the only issue I had with that phone was the internal storage which is way smaller than recommended for today's users. Out of the 16GB native storage, about 9GB is available to the users on initial boot. But with the Realme 3 which now has a basic 32GB internal storage, that is not going to be a problem anymore. If I were to buy one, I would definitely go for the 4GB RAM / 64GB ROM variant.
