Samsung Galaxy A80 With Rotating Triple Camera Launched

At a scheduled event in Thailand, Samsung has officially launched the new Galaxy A80 smartphone. This phone offers a type of camera mechanism that has never been seen before on a Galaxy device - a rotating camera, and it has three lenses. This innovation allows Samsung to build a Galaxy smartphone that does not have any front-facing camera and of course a notch nor a hole-punch resulting to a full infinity display. Something that many Samsung fans will be happy to have.

Rotating triple rear camera

This triple camera system is composed of 48MP primary shooter with f2.0 aperture, secondary 8MP ultrawide camera with f2.2 aperture, and a third 3D Depth sensor. As you can see in the gif image below, the camera automatically slides up and turns around when switched to the selfie mode allowing users to capture a quick selfie photo, record a video blog or even do livestream on Facebook or YouTube with the same powerful camera modules. In fact this device was created with digital content creators in mind, a rotating camera is the perfect way to go to help these creators and users continue enjoy a phone's best camera which is usually the ones found on the rear.

This adaptive and dynamic camera allows for an interactive experience with the same high-resolution lens, front and rear, so users never have to sacrifice on quality. The 3D Depth camera offers live focus to not only photos but also videos by scanning objects for measurement and depth. Also, it is built with an ultrawide angle lens with the same viewing angle as the human eye, so their favorite views can be shared with less panning.

Samsung included a Super Steady video mode in the camera to help creators capture videos with reduced shake ensuring smooth, and pro-level action videos. AI is also part of the gang here such as the Scene Optimizer that is capable of recognizing up to 30 different scenes and intelligently makes adjustments to produce the best possible photos of the subjects. The Flaw Detection is another smart feature that auto-detects glitches before the click is done.

Now on the display side which is also an exciting part of the Samsung Galaxy A80. A notch-less screen with extremely thin bezels on all four sides and extremely immersive display is the result of having that sliding and rotating rear cameras. Here we have a huge 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display. The fingerprint scanner is found right in this display which is also a nice thing to experience on a smartphone.

Unlike its other siblings in the Galaxy A series where the back panel sports 3D "glasstic design", a glossy back cover that resembles glass but is actually plastic, the Galaxy A80 is now sporting real 3D glass panel for an added premium look and feel while the entire device is framed in a metal chassis.

Powering this phone is the new Snapdragon SM7150 octa-core processor from Qualcomm partnered with 8GB of RAM and a non-expandable 128GB internal storage. And then keeping the lights on is a 3700mAh battery with 25W fast charge feature.
