Huawei P Smart Z Sporting Pop-up Selfie Camera Announced

Another pop-up selfie camera phone is joining the party!

A brand new smartphone from Huawei has just been officially launched, this time in Europe. And it is called the Huawei P Smart Z. The naming for this phone is quite unconventional, but this is the very first device from the Chinese tech giant that offers a pop-up selfie camera which gives users a notchless display viewing experience, very similar to the current Vivo V15 Pro and Oppo F11 Pro phones on the market.

This is a midrange smartphone though, so aside from the new and still very exciting features like the 16MP pop-up selfie camera and full screen display with 1080p resolution, the rest of the specs on this phone is not one of the highest and best around. The Huawei P Smart Z is powered by a Kirin 710F processor with eight cores and is paired with 4GB of RAM right off the bat. Storage part there's 64GB to start everything off and can be expanded via microSD card up to 512GB.

On the back users will have a dual camera setup at 16MP for the main and 2MP for the secondary shooter mainly used for depth sensing. Now for the front camera's pop-up mechanism durability, Huawei said it has been tested more than 100,000 times and can even stand up to 12kg of pressure.

Huawei P Smart Z specs:
  • 6.59" Full HD+ LCD display
  • 2340 x 1080 resolution
  • Octa-core Kirin 710F processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage
  • Supports microSD card slot up to 512GB
  • 16MP + 2MP dual rear camera
  • 16MP front camera with pop-up mechanism
  • Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0
  • WiFi Bluetooth, GPS
  • Fingerprint Scanner
  • USB Type-C
  • 4000mAH battery

Currently, the Huawei P Smart Z is available in Spain and Italy where it bears a €279 price tag, or about Php16,000 in the Philppine peso. As of now, there is no word yet if this phone will make its way to the Philippine market in the near future.
