Nokia 7.2 with 48MP Triple Camera Will Be Launched in the Philippines on October 10

It has been quite a long time since the last time we heard about a brand new Nokia-branded smartphone being released in the Philippines. But today, that changes, HMD Global Philippines just started sending invites out to the local media and bloggers for their upcoming event where the new Nokia 7.2 smartphone will be officially launched.

The Nokia 7.2 is the successor to the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 7.1. In addition to that, the latest has a lot of enahncements to offer both in terms of design and hardware. For one, it sports triple rear camera system where the main shooter sports a 48MP Samsung GW1 sensor along with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP depth sensor. Selfie wise, there's a 20MP front facing camera right in the waterdrop notch. As for its software, it runs on Android 9 Pie and just like any other HMD Global-manufactured Nokia smartphones, it is still under the Android One program and is ready for the upcoming Android 10 upgrade.

For the display, the Nokia 7.2 boasts a 6.39-inch Full HD+ display with PureView display. PureView technology is used and developed by HMD Global that has been present with a couple of their high-end devices which offers higher contrast and wider dynamic range compared to the usual LCD panels, so it should be really good as well. Inside the device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor paired with Adreno 512 GPU. Then there are either 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. See rest of specs below.

As usual, we won't know official local SRP for this device when it hits the Philippine market until the launch date on October 10. Thankfully though it's already launched in India and because of that, we now have an idea at least of how much this phone is going to be for. In India, it's priced at 18,599 Rupees for the 4GB/64GB model, or about Php13,500 when converted. Of course, that's not going to be exactly the same, but at least close to it.
