Huawei will launch the Nova 7i on February 14

On Valentine's Day, Huawei will officially launch its Nova 7i smartphone in Malaysia. This is not a brand new device though, it's actually first launched and released in China last month but only bearing another name which was the Nova 6 SE. We don't know why Huawei decided to call this phone a Nova 7 device when if fact it was initially released as a Nova 6 smartphone. But here it is, our first phone in the Nova 7 series from Huawei.

Right out of the box, the Nova 7i will come equipped with EMUI 10 software based on Android 10 operating system but due to the trade ban imposed by the US government on Huawei, this phone will not come pre-installed with Google services. This means users will have to rely on Huawei's own app gallery for app access or sideload APK versions of mobile applications of their choice. APKs are a possible solution or a workaround here but it's not recommended since it is risky, not just because of virus but also mobile hackers and intruders.

Back at the phone's technical specifications, powering this smartphone is a Kirin 810 processor paired with a roomy 8GB RAM together with a 128GB native storage. It's not clear yet if this will support microSD card for storage expansion. Its China version users nano memory card.

The camera department is one of main selling points of this phone aside from its physical design. On the back are four cameras with the primary one pegged at 48MP. The second, third, and fourth cameras are with 8MP, 2MP, and 2MP configurations respectively. The secondary camera offers ultrawide angle shots while the two 2MPs have portrait and macro sensors.

Huawei Nova 7i specs:
  • 6.4-inch Full HD+ display
  • 2310 x 1080 resolution
  • Kirin 810 processor
  • 8GB RAM
  • 128GB internal storage
  • 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-rear cameras
  • 16MP front camera
  • UMUI 10 based on Android 10 (No Google services in tow)
  • Dual SIM
  • 4G LTE
  • Side-mounted fingerprint scanner

The official pricing of the Huawei Nova 7i will be revealed at the scheduled event in Malaysia. And now that it has finally made it's way outside China, there is big chance that this will also be launched in other neighboring markets such as the Philippines soon.
