Poco X2 Will Launch on Feb 4 in India

For a moment, we thought that Pocophone F1 smartphone would no longer have a follow up release most especially when report came out that Xiaomi did not have plans in doing so. Pocophone was a spin-off brand of Xiaomi made specifically for gamers on a budget. And though the Pocophone F1 was powered by a flagship-level processor, it had a midrange-level price tag which is why it was a success and a lot of folks were waiting to see what's in store for them in the next iteration. Thankfully though, a surprise announcement recently revealed that the sub-brand will continue to operate as an independent brand and will be known moving forward as POCO. And their first ever smartphone release, also a successor to the Poco F1 more than a year ago, as a stand-alone company will be called the Poco X2, and yes it will debut this coming February 4.

Of course as of yet, a lot of details are still unknown about this Poco X2 but the company has just published its official website and started teasing some of the most anticipated features that the X2 will bring to the table. One of those is the high represh rate on the phone's display which according to Poco India's Twitter account will make you "Bruh, it's #SmoothAF" upon announcing the arrival date of the X2.

The #SmoothAF hashtag obviously refers to the display refresh rate which is a very big deal most especially for mobile gamers and this is one of the most sought after smartphone features these days. While the launch date announcement did not specifically mention a number, either 90Hz or 120Hz, rumors may have something to share about it. According to the unconfirmed reports, the said POCO X2 will be a re-branded variant of Redmi K30 smartphone that was recently released in China. This Redmi smartphone sports 120Hz refresh rate together with much bigger battery and display, and a Snapdragon 730G. Geekbench listing, as spotted by eagle-eyed enthusiasts, suggests that the X2 will come equipped with Android 10 OS and 8GB of RAM.

So far, POCO has teased that the X2 will offer 64MP camera with Sony IMX686 sensor in tow, liquid cooling, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a fast charging technology.

Whatever the real deal about this Poco X2, we will all know on Feb 4th. So stay tuned.
